Session Formats
Expert dialogue
- 1 facilitator
- 3-4 speakers (ideally having different perspectives on the concerned dialogue topic)
- 60 minutes
- An expert dialogue follows a structured format for the first part, followed by a free flowing discussion amongst the experts, and ends with an audience Q&A.
- A performative or demonstrative element to the dialogue is a plus
ODR Legal Tech Popup
- 1-2 speakers
- A short demonstration of a cutting edge product, tool, or other innovation related to online dispute resolution.
Lightning Talk
- 1-2 speakers
- 8-10 minutes, theatre style
- Can use the PechaKucha format.
- Meant to deliver inspiring stories from around the world on use of ODR for enhancing access to justice, concise and direct call to action, draw attention to a specific problem with an intent to rally action/ solutions, and the like.
- These lightning talks will be put online-only on the ODR Forum website, and the speakers will be given specific time at the Forum for interaction with the audience.
Make-a-thon
- An 8-weeks long online challenge bringing together engineers, technologists, lawyers, designers and business professionals to find solutions for the online dispute resolution ecosystem.

Review of applications
- The applications to host a session will be reviewed by a panel of thought leaders in the ODR ecosystem with an objective of making the Forum radically collaborative. The applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will be in touch with you over the course of January and February to support you with your session.
Criteria for review of applications
- Relevant for the ODR community
- Original, proposes a new idea or is a fresh take on an existing idea or issue
- Inclusive, takes account of diverse perspectives
- Activates agency of stakeholders, actionable pathways for the emergent future
- Compelling, engages with the participants, leaves the audience inspired, with a feeling of having actively learned something new, or that they had an opportunity to participate, imagine and create together.
- Aligns with the objectives of the ODR Forum 2023. What is going to help people touch, feel, and shape the New Now of Online Dispute Resolution and the next generation of innovation in this space?
